Micromine used in the discovery of gold prospects

Emerging mid-tier gold producer, Horizon (ASX:HRZ), continues to build on its highly prospective gold projects in the heart of Western Australia’s goldfields, tapping into Micromine’s advanced software tools for reliable data logging in the discovery of two promising prospects.

Horizon recently announced its discovery of two historic prospects Baden Powell North and Capricorn which have returned significant new gold mineralisation within an area of limited historic exploration.

Part of the organisation’s regional drilling program, Horizon Managing Director, Mr Jon Price, notes that the Windanya and Baden Powell areas are now demonstrating the potential for new resources to be established within trucking distance from a centralised processing facility.

MICROMINE Global Marketing Manager, Kate Gilbey, highlights that MICROMINE’s suite of software solutions address the entire mining value chain. “Our leading exploration and 3D mine design solution, Micromine, gives users access to integrated tools for modelling, estimation, design, optimisation and scheduling for example.”

Gilbey says, “This includes advanced tools for logging, reporting, extracting, compositing, and merging drill hole data – as utilised by Horizon in this instance.”

“The successful management and optimisation of drill hole information is essential for all mining projects. This data, from the exploration phase and beyond, provides critical insight for operational decision making,” explains Gilbey.

Mr Price said, “We look forward to the next round of drilling to further test the extent of mineralisation and infill drilling to improve geological confidence.”
